'SHE'S HIDING SOMETHING'

EastEnders fans want Tracey the Barmaid to have her own story line… but they can’t agree what

The soap's longest serving, but near-silent, character could be a secret alcoholic, have a secret child by Phil Mitchell, or be Dot's daughter - according to these fan theories

HUNDREDS of EastEnders fans are calling on producers to give Tracey the barmaid her own story line, after 31 years on the show.

Actress Jane Slaughter was in the soap's first ever episode, on February 19 1985, and has been a pretty much permanent fixture in the Queen Vic in recent years.

The near-silent Walford lass is the London-based soap's longest running character, alongside Ian Beale, and spends most of her airtime nodding, smiling and handing punters their change.

However, there's no sign of June leaving Albert Square any time soon.

Discussing her future on the , which has nearly 27,000 likes, super fans have been joking about what Tracey could do for her first proper story line.

The group's creators said: "There is something Tracey must be hiding", and asked what her first ever plot could be.

Mark Webster joked: "Let's say she marries Winston. Would be the quietest story line ever."

Passing comments made in The Vic suggest that Tracey is divorced and has a son who lives with his dad elsewhere.

But Jayne Finch thought the plot behind Tracey's secret family should be much more dramatic than that.

She said: "She's married to an abusive, evil drunkard of a man - but has to work to support her bedridden mum and disabled son - there's also a daughter who she's protecting from her husband finding out that she's not his!

"The father lives on the square! Mick finds out and tries to help - fights and all sorts happen after that."

Others felt Tracey should have a secret child by either Phil Mitchell or Dennis Rickman.

Sarah Severn wrote: "Someone said she slept Phil years ago, maybe it would b good if she has his child and kept it secret."

While some suggested Tracey could have an affair with Mick while Linda is away.

Kat Lechemminant-Pay felt Trace was ripe for playing a 'secret alcoholic'.

But Louise Perry wanted a softer introduction into Tracey's private life.

She said: "Two children flown the nest, has a lovely husband. Well we need happiness in the square not more of the same."

Tracey Cook said: "She could have a dark past and be related to any of the cast."

Elle Lee Wood agreed, adding:" She could be Dot's daughter she didn't know she had, you don't see much of Tracy behind the bar since Mick and Linda took over and ran it.

"I'd love to see Tracy get really p***ed and let her hair down as well."

As Gemma Potterton labelled her a 'true legend', Michele Coates joked: "Make her a secret millionaire would be right twist in the story."

And Emma Wale Harris said: "I bet the script writers could have a field day, we know sod all really about her. Bring it on EastEnders."

While Rog Smith joked that the producers could do a whodunnit series on 'who stole Tracey's voice box?'

And Lisa Foultston said: "She murdered someone, perhaps a child or her child! And Tracy isn't her real name, she has a new identity!"

One thing's for sure, in the bonkers world of EastEnders the possibilities are endless. What would you like to see Tracey get up to?
