WHAT can't you miss on TV tonight? Our guide to the must-see shows...
The Missing, 9pm, BBC One
Now into 2015, Julien’s (Tchéky Karyo) health is failing but it’ll take a lot more than cancer to stop him trying to track down Alice Webster.
Her mum Gemma (Keeley Hawes) is still in a depressed stupor, unwilling to process what has gone on and not aided when her son Matthew gets involved in a violent act which changes the troubled family’s lives once again…
But Gemma is surprised when Julien rings her up and asks her to help, giving her a new purpose and a tiny bit of a spring in her step – exactly what she needed. A year later, Julien is still searching for his third suspect.
He finds a name he recognises, but his friends are convinced he’s lost his marbles. Can he persuade anyone before it’s too late?
It’s so tense that we can’t wait for the final two episodes…
NEW! Kids On The Edge, 10pm, Channel 4
This insightful series opens with a look at the Tavistock And Portman Gender Identity Development Service, which helps young people with gender dysphoria.
Ash, eight, and 11-year-old Matt, who wants hormone- blocking drugs, are two regular visitors and it’s difficult to imagine exactly what they and their families are going through.
A tough watch.
This Time Next Year, 8pm, ITV
Three episodes into this series and the instant, one-year-on reveals remain as goosebump-inducing as ever.
Among tonight’s ‘time travellers’ are Chris Peters, who wants to lose 7st, and Conrad Andrews, who hopes to smile for the first time after a 20-year phobia of the dentist.
As ever, Davina McCall strikes the perfect balance of empathy and enthusiasm.
NEW! 24 Hours in A&E, 9pm, Channel 4
It’s not just the medics’ amazing work that warms our hearts but the sweet stories behind the patients at St George’s Hospital, in Tooting, South West London, too.
In tonight’s episode, Mel, 71, has been accidentally run over by her husband of 49 years, John, who she met working at Butlin’s in Skegness.
Your heart will really go out to them.
