The rapper previously vowed to run for office, and now followers are urging him to keep his promise.
The Celebrity Apprentice star trumped rival Hillary Clinton in the polls yesterday to become president elect, but his victory has been met with a dismayed reaction from many in the US.
Voters have now taken to Twitter to back Kanye as a candidate to take on Trump in the next election.
They have launched a campaign urging the hip-hop superstar to keep his promise to run for the presidency in four years' time.
One wrote: "Today 4 years from now I'll be voting for #kanye2020."
Another added: "Four more years #KanyeForPres2020."
In a post on Twitter, another stated: "@kanyewest I have faith in you. Please save America 2020."
One declared: "Kanye West vs. Donald Trump 2020? This gonna be interesting watching in a fallout shelter."
Many also insisted that the reality TV star's triumph means Kanye actually has a good chance of winning the presidency himself.
