ACTOR Adam Thomas has swapped the Yorkshire Dales for Down Under as he appears in latest series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Despite being terrified of spiders, Adam is determined to face his fears and is rising to the challenge of jungle life.
Soap star Adam has been hitting the jungle pool with the other male contestants, as well as giving the ladies a run for their money under the famous waterfall shower.
Adam has proven himself to be a screamer when faced with the jungle critters.
During the Morse Code challenge he distracted Joel with his very vocal fear of spiders and got through the Food Factory challenge with a lot of screams and grunts.
He rose to his biggest challenge though when he held a live spider in his mouth for 30 seconds, and was justifiably proud of himself for facing his phobia.
Here are seven things you didn't know about Adam Thomas:
Seeing double
It's well known he comes from an acting dynasty, with both brothers Ryan and Scott also appearing on TV.
But did you know that he and Scott are actually unidentical twins?
Adam will be following his twins footsteps by giving reality TV a go, as Scott appeared in this summer's Love Island.
Scott was a huge hit on the show, so producers are hoping Adam will recreate the magic Down Under.
Although his break out role was as Dante Charles in BBC's Waterloo Road, his first TV role was in Doctors.
He had a guest role in 2002, before appearing twice more in 2007 and then 2009.
He also had a guest appearance in Casualty in 2008
Arachnophobia
Adam has confessed he is terrified of spiders.
He said: “I tend to run away from them or wake my fiancée up to get rid of them.”
He has even had two sessions of hypnotherapy to calm his nerves ahead of entering the jungle.
Lets hope the public go easy on him when they vote on who's doing the Bush Tucker Challenges...
James Arthur fan
He's a big fan of X Factor winner James Arthur.
He tweeted support to the star ahead of his comeback following some time out of the spotlight.
Acting school
Not only does he come from an acting family, he went to school with an actor too.
Actor Simon Gregson, who plays Steve McDonald in Coronation Street, attended the same high school as the Emmerdale star.
Homophobia controversy
Adam made headlines in 2010 after an incident in which he made homophobic comments to an Emmerdale fan.
He called Ricky Platts a "gay boy" and a "queer", and Ricky had video footage of the incident.
Adam later made a public apology, saying: “I deeply apologise for my actions. I am horrified to realise that I have caused offence. As anyone who knows me will say, this is not what I’m about. I fully intend to apologise directly to the person concerned.”
Young love
Adam proposed to his long-term girlfriend, and mother of his two-year-old son, Caroline Daly in April.
The pair jetted off to Dubai where he surprised her by popping the question.
They have been together for eight years.
He recently lowered his body fat from 30% to 6% and lost 7 kg after embarking on a gruelling training regime to look good for his upcoming nuptials.
