LAURA Whitmore has become the latest celebrity to be booted off Strictly Come Dancing.

The blonde beauty was given the axe tonight in a shock result following a dance-off with rival Ore Oduba.

Laura became the seventh contestant to leave the show tonight after failing to impress with her Samba.

She was sent packing along with her partner Giovanni Pernice after racking up the lowest combined score of viewer votes and points from the judges.

The TV star fought for her place by performing again in the dance-off, reviving her routine to Bamboleo by Gipsy Kings.

However, it was not enough to beat Ore and Joanne, who Samba-ed to Turn The Beat Around by Vicki Sue Robinson.

Laura was previously left fighting back tears after making a mistake during her first dance.

She also explained how her recent foot injury left her struggling to compete as she had lost her confidence.

The judges voted unanimously to save Ore, but admitted it was a difficult choice.

Darcey Bussell said: “I think both couples danced exceptionally well tonight and it makes it very difficult...

"But I’d like to save the couple that I believe and know performed their best, a finished performance, was Ore and Joanne."

Bruno Tonioli added: "You both danced with such vibrancy, energy and entertainment value, it’s like splitting hairs here."

Laura was a gracious loser, declaring: "If I’m going to go against anyone then, Ore, I mean… I’m ok."

Giovanni added: "I would like to say again thank you for being such a great partner, an amazing person to work with, you teach me a lot and I will never ever forget this journey."
