Blake - who is played by actor Adam Little - stabbed Alya Nazir as part of a terror attack at the refugee drop in centre.

The thug livestreamed Alya welcoming people into the centre's launch event and hairdresser Maria making a speech offering people support.

Groomed teen Max Turner watched on his phone as Blake vowed to the Weatherfield centre by any means neccessary.

He saw Blake with a knife and raced to Speed Daal to try and warn everyone.

Alya also realised what what was happening as Blake walked towards Maria, and she jumped in front of the knife.

The attack marked the climax of the recent hard hitting storyline which highlighted the grooming of disenfranchised and impressionable young men - but it also sparked 72 complaints to Ofcom.

Viewers have seen Max befriended in person by older, mentor-like figures that have given him a sense of loyalty and brotherhood.

He became more estranged from his family and fell under the spell of Griff, who used Max’s video and computer skills to spread their racist propaganda.

In upcoming episodes viewers will see Max trying to come to terms with the consequences of his actions.

Corrie producer, Iain Macleod, said: “We are exploring a very 21st Century problem: teenagers self-radicalising through watching extreme content online.

"In the end, we wanted this to be a story about communication within families - what are the right and wrong ways to talk to younger family members who are gravitating towards extreme views?”

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
