Before Bowie, Iman married a Somali entrepreneur at age 18, but the marriage ended not long after Iman moved to the US.

Iman then dated American actor in 1977, before she married basketball player Spencer Haywood in the late 1970s.
How did David and Iman meet?
In 1990, Iman met her future husband David Bowie on a surprise blind date set up by a friend in Los Angeles.
The friend was hairdresser Teddy Antolin, who invited Iman to a party.
When she arrived at the restaurant, there were only four people there, including Bowie.
At the end of the evening, the singer offered to drive Iman home.
In 1992 couple wed in a private ceremony in .
Following this, Iman had the wedding solemnised in Florence, Italy.
The couple remained together until Bowie's death.
David died on January 10, 2016 at his New York City apartment
His Facebook page posted this message at the time: "David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer.
"While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family's privacy during their time of grief."
