Jean-Christophe Novelli reveals eight-week-old son has been diagnosed with cancer
The devastating news about baby boy Valentino Louis' comes just hours after Michael Buble and his wife revealed their three-year-old son is battling cancer
JEAN-CHRISTOPHE Novelli has revealed his heartbreak as his eight-week-old son has been diagnosed with cancer.
The 55-year-old celebrity chef welcomed Valentino Louis in September with his fiancee Michelle Kennedy, 40.
However, just weeks later, the pair found a lump in the newborn's neck, and doctors have diagnosed it as Neuroblastoma cancer.
His spokesman told Hello! magazine: "Jean-Christophe's priority at this time is supporting his family as they deal with this devastating news, it is still very early days but they remain positive and believe the NHS experts are doing everything possible.
"Jean has had to postpone all his immediate work over the next two weeks to be with his baby and support his family but is grateful for the understanding and support during this very difficult time."
Jean-Christophe and his fiancee welcomed Valentino Louis in September, and posed together for a photoshoot at the time.
He told the mag then: "I have always wanted three sons and this is the perfect hat-trick. All the ingredients are here for a lovely recipe. It's wonderful to have children.
"I will be at the traditional retirement age when Valentino is at secondary school but age is not important - I still feel young and I expect I will be running for my bus pass!"
The couple already have sons Jean, seven, and Jacques, three, and Jean-Christophe's daughter Christina, 30, from a previous marriage.
Neuroblastoma is a cancer in the nervous system and other tissues, with fewer than 100 children in the UK diagnosed each year with the disease. However, of those, most of them are under five.
It comes just hours after Michael Buble and his wife Luisana revealed their three-year-old son Noah is battling cancer.
The singer, 41, and his wife, 29, said they are “devastated” by the tragic news in an emotional Facebook post.
Noah is being treated at a hospital in the US and both Bublé and Luisana have given up work commitments to be with their son.
A statement from Bublé posted on both his and Luisana’s pages read: “We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US.
“We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children. Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well.
“At this difficult time, we ask only for your prayers and respect for our privacy.
“We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing.”
