Hollyoaks’ OB set for romance with Grace Black as he returns to show after eight years
DARREN Jeffries has revealed more details about his return to Hollyoaks after eight years — and romance is on the cards.
The actor played the beloved Sam "OB" O'Brien in the Channel 4 teen soap from 1997 to 2008, before quitting to try new things.
Now he's set to make his comeback November 14, when OB becomes involved in the mystery of the missing Osborne family, teaming up with Cindy Cunningham and Grace Black to crack the case.
Grace happens to be the sister of Clare Devine, the serial killer wife of OB's best pal Max, a woman Max despised — and it's Grace who ends up catching OB's eye.
Darren told : "There's a bit of chemistry between the characters... OB and Grace clicked, they get on really well."
He added: “We do explore the fact she’s Clare’s sister, but there’s a bit of flirting, that’s all I can say.”
Previously Darren spoke of his excitement at rejoining the soap, saying: "It's an absolute pleasure to bring OB back to Hollyoaks village.
“If anyone can get to the bottom of where the Osbornes are it’s him."

He added: “I still can’t believe it’s been over eight years since I left the show, it feels like I’ve never been away.”
OB was known for his bromance with Max, played by Matt Littler, with whom Darren picked up the gong for best Onscreen Partnership at the 2008 British Soap Awards.
After Max was killed, OB left Chester to join ex-girlfriend Summer Shaw in London.
