Liam Payne’s sister praises ‘pregnant’ Cheryl’s work for Childline in supportive message
Cheryl who is believed to be expecting her first child opened up about being a depressed teen during her One Show appearance
‘PREGNANT’ Cheryl is being supported by boyfriend Liam Payne’s family following her emotional appearance on The One Show.
Liam’s sister Ruth Gibbins, 25, too to Twitter to praise the 33-year-old for the “great work” she is doing for Childline.
In a heartfelt tweet Ruth also reminded followers that they “never have to suffer alone.”
She posted: “@CherylOfficial doing great work for #childline ! Just remember guys there is always someone to talk to, you never have to suffer alone!”
Cheryl, who is believed to be expecting a baby with the 23-year-old One Direction singer, opened up about her battle with depression as a teen as she discussed her role of Childline ambassador alongside Esther Rantzen.
Sharing why she wanted to be involved with the organisation, which has been going for 30 years, Cheryl explained how she had struggled as a teen and could fully empathise with today’s youth.
She said: “I was just a general worrier, it’s in my nature, I would worry about the world, I’d worry sick if I saw something on the news.
“I was actually quite a depressed teenager to be honest, I didn’t enjoy my teenage years at all. I found them really tough.”
Hosts Matt Baker and Alex Jones asked the former Girls Aloud singer what had made her so down, and she explained how it was the fear of failure at school which was at the heart of her unhappiness.
She continued: "The stress, the pressure of going home and your parents wanting you to do well in your exams, your school wanting you to do well in your exams, you feeling like you’re going to be a failure if you don’t.
"Hormones play a huge part in your teenage years on how you feel, I would not go back to my teenage years for love nor money, not a chance."
