LISA Marie Presley died after a long battle with prescription drugs — and will be buried next to her dad Elvis at Graceland.

The tragic singer, who suffered a fatal cardiac arrest at the age of 54, will also be laid to rest alongside her only son Ben, whose suicide in 2020 haunted her final years.

Lisa Marie had been given CPR by her first husband Danny Keough after collapsing at her home in LA on Thursday night.

However the mum of four, whose health had been rapidly declining amid a lengthy fight with opioids, died later in hospital

She had sparked concerns with her dishevelled appearance at the Golden Globe Awards last week. A pal said: “Sadly, this is the news we all feared was coming.”

Her death was announced yesterday morning , who had appeared with her at the awards do in Beverly Hills on Tuesday night.

She said: “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.

“She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.” Sources say Lisa Marie will have a “spiritualist” send-off before being laid to rest at the famous estate in Memphis, Tennessee, where her legendary father passed away aged 42 in 1977.

The friend added: “The thinking is that she will be buried at Graceland — alongside her father, and also her son Ben. She was also a big fan of Deepak Chopra. He’s a spiritualist and an expert in alternative medicine who spoke at her son’s funeral, so it’s likely he may be asked to do the same for Lisa.”

Lisa Marie had previously undergone rehab treatment for multiple addictions, including alcohol and drugs. Those close to her say she was again heavily reliant on substances, primarily prescription pills including gabapentin, a powerful painkiller, and Seroquel, given to patients with mood disorders.

She is also believed to have become increasingly interested in inhaling surgical gas — administered at cosmetic surgery clinics or by dentists for pain relief.

However early reports suggest no drugs were found at the scene of her suspected cardiac arrest.

The only child of Elvis and Priscilla, Lisa Marie was four when they divorced and just nine years old when her dad died.

She would go on to marry four times, including to pop icon Michael Jackson from 1994 to 1996 and actor Nicolas Cage, from 2002 to 2004. She had four children, including actress Riley Keough, but struggled to overcome the suicide of Ben, aged 27, in 2020

In a final social media post, she opened up about her ongoing pain, writing: “Grief does not stop or go away in any sense. Grief is something you will have to carry with you for the rest of your life, in spite of what certain people or our culture want us to believe.

“You do not get over it, you do not move on, period.”

She had recently rekindled her friendship with first husband Danny — Ben and Riley’s father — a US singer she married in 1988.

They split up six years later but had been living together at her £3million home, along with her 14-year-old twin daughters Finley and Harper. But she remained locked in a dispute with her last husband, Michael Lockwood, the father of the twins, over legal costs following their divorce in 2021.

Lisa Marie was found unconscious by her housekeeper. Keough then returned from taking the kids to school and tried to revive her. She was then raced to hospital. Attempts to restart her heart after she went into “full cardiac arrest” proved unsuccessful.

The results of a post-mortem to establish the precise cause of death are likely to take several weeks.

A source added: “She never really managed to find peace. There always seemed to be something going on to cause her stress and pain, although losing Ben was the very worst of all.

“It sent her spiralling again, and although she’d been in and out of treatment there is no getting past the simple fact that she never quite managed to stay on track.

“There had been a few health scares, but her body appears to have just given up. She couldn’t take any more.”

Lisa Marie was 35 when she followed in her father’s footsteps and forged a career in music.

She released three albums, with her 2003 debut selling hundreds of thousands of copies. She also spent time in the UK, and bizarrely served takeaways while living in East Sussex, close to the Church of Scientology HQ where she had attended rehab.

In 2005, she sold off Elvis Presley Enterprises — the holding business that retained the rights to the rock ‘n’ roll legend’s immensely lucrative legacy.

But she retained ownership of Graceland — the 14-acre estate and mansion, which is now a museum.

She and her mum were reduced to tears at the Golden Globes last week as Austin Butler won Best Actor for the movie Elvis. He told them: “Thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me.”
