Mystery surrounds the future of Oasis after they appeared to drop their biggest hint yet that they're reuniting - by allegedly 'booking support bands' for a 2017 tour.

According to NME.com, while Noel and Liam Gallagher are yet to mend their long-running feud, they are now secretly planning a surprise reunion.

as claiming a “UK rock band from the 90s with a very close connection to Liam Gallagher” are alleged to “have been tapped as the opening act” for reunion shows.

Oxford rock band Ride is reportedly among those being tipped to join the band on stage for their long-anticipated reunion.

The author of the article further fuelled rumours by adding “fans could be in for the ‘ride’ of their life”.

Ride's former guitarist Andy Bell later joined both Oasis and Liam's band Beady Eye, so they have a connection already - and Ride supported Oasis in the 90s.

The band last played together in August 2009, at the V Festival in Stafford, before Noel and Liam Gallagher's feud took over - but the site claims they have since "mended" their relationship.

It comes after Liam recently revealed he hasn't ruled out a reunion - but he's leaving it up to Noel.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph on the 20th anniversary of their iconic Knebworth, the 44-year-old said: “At the moment, it’s a bazillion light years away. I’d love to, but obviously – it’s down to Ronnie Corbett [Noel], innit.”
