FORMER child star Mara Wilson left fans stunned as she made an appearance on Lorraine on Wednesday morning.
The Matilda star spoke to Lorraine via video link as she promoted her new book, Where Am I Now?
Mara discussed how the book covered her time as a popular child actor as she gained fame starring in a slew of hits including Matilda, Mrs Doubtfire and Miracle on 34th Street.
Opening up about her surreal childhood, Mara explained: "I never meant to become famous. I grew up in Los Angeles and child was acting, it was almost like a hobby."
Discussing how the sad loss of her mother - shortly after she finished filming Matilda - affected her life, Mara revealed: "Danny DeVito took the film Matilda and showed it to my dying mother while she was in hospital so she could get the chance to see it.
"She loved the book and I found that very heartening. I didn’t know that for a while."
She continued: "Sometimes I feel I should have stopped acting after Matilda and gone out on a high – plus I didn’t have my mother around..."
Sadly, the link cut out and forced the interview to end much to the dismay of viewers who had been enjoying a chance to see the child star so many years later.
Mara soon reacted to the sudden cut as she tweeted: "Oh no! Signal cut out! Well, to err is human, to REALLY mess things up requires technology. Rain check?"
Then the official Lorraine account shared good news with fans as they revealed: "Watch this space @MaraWilson fans! We will post the full interview with the actress on our website shortly! #MaraWilson."
Mara added: "We filmed a segment that will be up on the website! Glad it got worked out! Thank you @ITVLorraine."
Mara, 29, eventually shunned the limelight after a successful career and is now a playwright.
