The Big Brother star made the bold decision to go under the knife as her relationship with ex Luke Sanwo is 'complicated'
JOSIE Gibson’s new tummy tuck may mean she can never have children after she ignored doctors’ warnings.
Despite being urged to prolong her recent operation to remove excess skin until after she’d started a family, Josie decided to go ahead with the procedure after putting it off for three years.
Josie told magazine: “There was a big debate about me having children.
“I went to one surgeon and he said, ‘You’re 31, I’d rather do it after you’ve had children.’
“But then I thought, ‘What if I don’t ever have any children?’ They’re not on the menu. It’s like waiting around for a steak when you’re in a vegetarian restaurant.”
When asked what'd happen if she did chose to have children, Josie said: "I asked my surgeon if I'd need another nip and tuck. She said, 'You might,'"
Talking about the risks with carrying a child after a tummy tuck, cosmetic surgeon , says: “The pregnancy will stretch the abdominal wall muscles and overlying skin and potentially reverse some of the improvement.
“It is therefore recommended in most cases to wait until after child bearing before getting a tummy tuck.
“If you are planning on getting pregnant in the next year or two, it is definitely a good idea to wait.
“However, if you believe that you are done having children but can’t rule out the possibility of a future pregnancy, you may want to opt for the procedure.”
The former Big Brother winner, 31, shed an incredible 6st in 2011 and transformed her life.
However she has since been left with excess skin that left her feeling uncomfortable and unconfident.
As her relationship with on/off ex-fiancé Luke Sanwo is “filed under complicated,” she decided to make the bold move.
