STRICTLY Come Dancing fans have laid into Len Goodman after he confused DC and Marvel.

Comic book fans slammed the 70-year-old online after his pun laden comments after Louise Redknapp and Kevin Clifton did the Charleston to Beyonce’s Crazy In Love.

Their dance was batman themed – with Kevin dressing as the joker and Louise stunning as Harley Quinn.

After their performance, which scored the pair 35, Len told Louise: “So animated!

“The routine was dandy, you were a marvel & it was more fun than a Beano!”

Fans were quick to point out his mistake however and laid into him online.

One tweeted: “@bbcstrictly stupid Len! Batman is DC NOT!!! MARVEL!!! #Strictly #DC”.

Another wrote:” Len calling the Harley Quinn and Joker dance Marvel-ous is hurting my insides #marvel #DC.”

A third irate fan said: “That moment where Len calls Louise a marvel and all you can think is, ‘Batman is DC actually’ #Strictly.”

Before this year’s Strictly started, Len revealed he was stepping down after 12 years on the show.

The Sun exclusively revealed Len’s exit has sparked a bitter contest between Anton and fellow dance star Brendan Cole.

However, Len has now thrown is backing behind Anton as the race to replace him continues.

He also named former Strictly professional Karen Hardy as another favourite, insisting he hopes his replacement will be ballroom veteran.

Len told the Kent and Sussex Courier: “It would be nice if Anton or Karen Hardy took over – someone from the world of ballroom rather than stage or theatre dancing.”

The dance veteran, 72, is filming this year’s series of Strictly as his “swan song” before retiring, and he revealed he plans to spend his free time on the golf course.

He added: “I am doing one last series – it will be my swan song -one more Strictly and then I will see what happens. At the end of the day I have been doing it for 12 years and I wanted to get out before people started saying – ‘get that old boy off’…

“I would like to spend more of my time here [at Wildernesse Golf Club in Kent].”
