Great British Bake Off 2016 contestants reveal who they REALLY want to win the final

THE final of The Great British Bake Off is just hours away and this year’s contestants have revealed who they would like to win.

Andrew Smyth, Candice Brown and Jane Beedle are all in the running to win the BBC baking competition which airs for the final time on Wednesday night.

During the royal themed final, the former bakers gather round and are quizzed on who they would like to win the competition.

Selasi Gbormittah knows who he’d like to walk away victorious, telling the cameras: “I want Andrew to win but it’ll be a tough call because the girls have been very, very strong.”

Val Stones thinks Candice has it in the bag however, saying: “She plans well, she’s impeccable, and she is so focused.”

Fellow baker, 26-year-old Tom Baker, appears to only have eyes for Jane and admits: “I've been backing Jane since week one.”

Rav Bansal feels the same as Tom although he found it hard to decide when asked who he’d like to see win.

He explained: “Candice has been star baker so many times, and Andrew and Jane have both been so consistent... urgh!

“I think I'm going to have to say Jane.”

Not all the contestants were keen to give their verdict though, with teaching assistant Benjamina Ebuehi simply saying: “Who will win, who will win?”

Footage of Wednesday's final show tensions are running high in the tent.

From twelve bakers to three, the pressure appears to be getting to Jane, Candice and Andrew on what is arguably the biggest day of their lives as bakers.

“The nerves are a bit jangly,” said Andrew as he dropped a bowl during the final task and exclaimed:

“I’ve dropped a bowl already!”

The finale will be the last ever episode of the competition to air on the BBC after Channel 4 signed a multi million pound deal with the show’s creators Love Productions.

Presenters Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc proclaim they ‘won’t be following the dough’ and sensationally quit the show to remain loyal to the BBC, alongside Mary Berry.

Paul Hollywood however stayed the course and decided to move with the show to Channel 4.

Wednesday’s finale is set to break records as millions tune in to find out who has bagged the final Bake Off crown.
