Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry do NOT bake the cakes they show off on TV
Experts hired by Bake Off's production firm make them while the judges are in hair and make up
GREAT British Bake Off judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry do not make the cakes they show off on the hit show, we can reveal.
In each episode, they reveal perfect versions of tricky creations the contestants have to come up with in the technical challenge.
But experts hired by the production firm make them while Paul, 50, and Mary, 81, are in hair and make-up.
Once the cameras roll, all the stars have to do is reveal how they are made.
An insider said: “Mary and Paul have never made a single cake in the tent.
“The technical creations viewers see them discussing are created by a team of home economics experts hired by Love Productions.
“Mary and Paul might explain how the finished result is achieved, but they have had no hand in it.
"Paul in particular often talks about what ‘we’ have done, so it will come as a shock to fans.”
