David Bowie’s estate bans Honey G from rapping over one of his songs on this weekend’s X Factor
The rapper is due to perform Ice Ice Baby which samples a portion of Bowie's Under Pressure
DAVID Bowie's estate has banned X Factor's Honey G from performing her own rap over one of the late singer's songs on this weekend's show.
The North Wheezy rapper will perform Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby which features a sample from Under Pressure which was written and performed by Bowie and Queen.
The 35-year-old is known for putting her own spin on her performances, especially her now iconic rap "‘When I say Honey, you say G."
But Bowie's estate has said that Honey G, real name Anna Gilford, is not allowed to perform her own rap.
A source told : "Bowie’s estate have been very reluctant in letting her use the song, she can’t make it her own in any way and must stick to Vanilla Ice’s version."
A X Factor source added: “Honey is really nervous because her biggest draw is all the gimmicks and personal touches she puts on her raps.
“Now she really has to stick to the format, so she doesn’t want to cause any problems. This could really make or break her.”
