Ex-EastEnders star arrested for ‘catfishing’ pensioner ‘who sent actress £80,000’ for ‘sex services’
A FORMER EastEnders star was arrested after allegedly being sent £80,000 by an OAP who thought they were dating.
The actress, 48, who cannot be named, is being probed for alleged “catfishing” by pretending to be in her 20s.
She is said to have offered online sexual services to the man, in his 80s, for cash.
Police said the pensioner believed they were in a relationship after meeting the woman on a dating site.
Worried relatives are understood to have called detectives after realising his savings had vanished.
The actress — a household name — is said to have asked others to deposit some of the man’s money in their bank accounts.

She was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit fraud during a raid in East London in July, but details of the allegations have only just emerged.
Officers from a fraud unit are said to have taken away documents and electronic devices after swooping on an address where she is thought to be living currently.
Three others — a woman, 61, and two men aged 38 and 34 — were held on suspicion of fraud by false representation over the same suspected “romance fraud”, police said.
All four were released under investigation.
