X Factor’s Honey G slammed by Boy George as ‘ridiculous’ joke act
The Culture Club frontman didn't mince his words when talking about the controversial rapper
QUIRKY X Factor star Honey G has been branded "ridiculous" and a "joke" by pop legend Boy George during a harsh tirade of insults on Good Morning Britain.
The Culture Club frontman let rip on the budding rapper during the ITV Breakfast show with lead host Piers Morgan firmly in agreement.
Honey G, real name Anna Gilford, has become a surprise fans' favourite and has sailed through the show's first two live rounds.
Yet Boy George, former judge on rival talent show The Voice, thinks she's far from sweet and raged: "For a singing show, it's ridiculous.
"The fact that Freddy got sent home and other people got sent home and she got kept, it's like a joke."
He was quick to point out what he believes are the pitfalls of the public having the deciding vote.
He experienced it at first hand during his time on the BBC talent show, which has now switched to broadcasting rival ITV.
George, who wore a green hat and matching shirt for his chat on early morning TV, said: "That is why pop music is so bad because the public are dictating the art form and nobody is individual any more."
In an attempt to smooth things over the chart star, 55, added: "I think she'll be a great Britain's Got Talent contestant."
