A FORMER prostitute who carried out a sex act on actor Hugh Grant is unrecognisable 27 years on after being hit with a string of new charges.

She claims the arrest made her a 'millionaire' but 27 years on it seems the ex-sex worker is still having run-ins with the law.

Aged 53, Divine is seen on an Atlanta estate talking on the phone with a cigarette in her hand.

Divine, whose real name is Estella Thompson, is now facing a string of charges, including battery, child cruelty and drug possession.

Wearing double-denim with a black crop top that reveals a snake tattoo on her chest, her neighbours claim the picture she paints is far from the truth.

One neighbour told the : "Divine is all about appearances.

"Never did the saying ‘red shoes and no knickers’ sum anyone up better.

"She likes to have people believe she drives a Porsche, wears Prada clothes and Gucci shoes. The reality is far from that

"She has no car, and the shoes she steps out in are nasty old flip-flops.

"Divine has been in and out of trouble all her adult life. There is constant shouting coming from her home, mostly when she is drunk.

"It seems her choices may finally be catching up to her."

Police were called to Divine's ground-floor flat on February 14 where she was found drunk and 'slurring her words'.

They then found her 13-year-old victim who said she had been grabbed by the arm and thrown around the apartment by the former sex worker.

She told cops Divine was under the influence of "alcohol or something because she has seen her pop pills before."

Attending Officer Chance Gilbert wrote: "Once she was able to break away, she attempted to run out of the door, and [Divine] grabbed her by the face and scratched her on the left side of her face."

The girl was taken to hospital, while Divine was taken to Fulton County Jail, where officers discovered she had what they believed to be cocaine hidden inside her body.

The case is still open and Divine could face up to 30 years behind bars for possession of drugs.

SEX ACT ARREST

In 1995 she was arrested alongside Hugh Grant for their 'lewd conduct' after the pair were spotted having sex in his car.

Grant, who had just shot to fame starring in the hit film Four Weddings and a Funeral, described it as a moment of 'insanity.'

An awkward-looking mugshot was taken and the pair faced six months behind bars for the seedy act.

He was thought to be in LA to promote his latest film, Nine Months, when he decided to 'walk on the wild side' on LA's Sunset Strip, a local newspaper reported.

Grant, who was with model Liz Hurley at the time, said in a statement: "Last night I did something completely insane.

"I have hurt people I love and embarrassed people I work with. For both things I am more sorry than I can ever possibly say."

Eventually Divine sold her story in a tell-all interview about her night with Grant.

In a court hearing that the movie star did not attend, he was ordered to pay $1000 and go on an AIDS education programme.

He later appeared on NBC's Tonight show where he apologised for the 'abominable' act.

Fidgeting and stuttering he said: "I’ve done an abominable thing, and she’s [Liz Hurley] been amazing about it, and contrary to what I read in the paper today, she’s been very supportive, and we’re going to try to work it out."

However Divine was not so lucky and due to her previous prostitution convictions, she was handed a 180-day prison sentence.

As she was not due to start her sentence for another four months, she travelled to the UK to promote an adult channel and said she hoped to see Grant again.

Despite claiming she had become a millionaire, public records show Divine has had multiple addresses and has often been evicted from properties.
