Viewers took to Twitter to share their shock that over the use of the swear word
CORONATION Street fans took to Twitter in uproar tonight after David Platt screamed the word “b*****d” before the 9pm watershed.
The character, played by Jack P. Shepherd, was locked in the Bistro cellar by mother Gail after he threatened to murder his wife Kylie’s killer.
As Gail was forced to confess what she’d done to Robert Preston, co-owner of the Bistro, David was then heard shouting on the other side of the door.
And as he screamed, “Let me out of here so I can kill the b*****d!” fans across the nation gasped – and then took to social media.
One outraged mother fumed: "#CoronationStreet i have my ten yo asking me what a b*****d is why was this language used before the 9pm watershed #raging #unacceptable" while another wrote: "Omg #CoronationStreet gonna be in trouble David shouting let me out so i can kill the B******d !!! at 7;50pm."
Another fan added: "B*****d before 9pm? Tut tut Corrie!"
But some saw the funny side to it and even predicted that the complaints would soon come flooding in.
One wrote: "Did David just say b*****d? Ooooo, before the watershed! Complaints galore from ppl with no life."
And another added: "'B*****d' said on Corrie even before 8pm. And a million precious, sheltered souls complain in 5, 4, 3, 2...."

After unsuccessfully trying to tunnel his way out through the sewer – and being confronted by rats – David was apparently left with no other option.
Opening up to Gail, David revealed the horrifying truth that he would rather be dead than alive with Kylie’s murderer.
As Gail begged him to find a way to go on, she realised he'd gone silent and began to panic.
