Has David Platt killed himself in Coronation Street? Grieving father becomes desperate after being locked in the cellar
After a long conversation with his mum Gail, David appeared to take drastic action
HAS David Platt killed himself in Coronation Street?
Overcome with grief over the injustice of wife Kylie's killer being allowed to live, even if in prison, David has been determined to take his revenge.
But after mum Gail got wind of his plans, he was locked in the cellar, unable to do anything to the murderer.
And now it seems, the thought of losing his chance to kill Clayton is too much for him to bear.
After unsuccessfully trying to tunnel his way out through the sewer - and being confronted by rats - David was apparently left with no other option.
Opening up to Gail, David revealed the horrifying truth that he would rather be dead than alive with Kylie's murderer.
"Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin," he said as he began his terrifying story.
"Once upon a time there was a girl called Kylie, she was married to David and they had two beautiful children.
"Then one day they decided to go to the land of sun, sea and pretty coloured fishes and live happily ever after and Kylie was very happy.
"Then a nasty man called Clayton came along and just for the hell of it, just because he could, he stuck a knife between her ribs and he left her there to slowly bleed to death.
"So David and the children were left all alone and they were all really sad, but David was angry and the anger inside him grew, and grew to the point where he thought prison wasn't good enough for the nasty young man.
"So David went out and bought a car and got lots of petrol and on the day the nasty young man was in court, David drove to court and he waited.
"And while he waited David doused himself and the car in petrol and then when he saw the prison van approaching with the nasty man inside, he put his foot down hard, flicked open his lighter, drove into the side of the van and boom.
"Nasty young man was gone forever, and of course so was David but he didn't mind. In some ways it was sort of a relief. You see this isn't a fairytale Gail,. there are no happy endings."
