Emmerdale viewers left rattled over creepy episode as James finally escapes Emma’s clutches
James finally escaped but who will survive the No Return week?
EMMERDALE viewers were left rattled tonight after James finally escaped from Emma's clutches - but not before she killed a chicken in her wedding dress and forced him to eat it.
The episode was inspired by horror film Misery and fans were left creeped out as Emma drugged an injured James, dressed him in his wedding suit and then tied him to chair.
However, viewers were most affected when she ran out in the farm yard and killed a chicken in her wedding dress.
She then forced James to eat the dinner as he tried to coax her into believing they could make their relationship work so he could escape.
He gets her to come in close to him at the table and hits over the head with a wine bottle but that isn't enough to stop her as she gets up once again and pushes him to ground.
Adding to the tension, James trips her up once again and then does his best to escape.
But as he hobbles to the road side, Emma creepily emerges out of the woods in her blood stained wedding dress.
Viewers took to Twitter in their thousands to react to the nail biting instalment of the ITV soap with many left wondering who is going to die at the end of the week in the grisly car accident.
However, many were more affected by Emma killing the chicken in her wedding gown.
One wrote: "Emma with the meat cleaver and chicken was iconic."
Another added: "When Emma went outside, killed a chicken and then walked back in with blood down her dress, calm as you like, crazy gal #emmerdale #NoReturn."
Others were not so impressed as the scenes aired right as they were sitting down to their tea.
One viewer wrote: "My how appetising blood splashed all down her dress of the chicken lying on their table that they are about to eat."
Emma's incident with the chicken comes after she killed a cat earlier this week.
Meanwhile, many others couldn't believe how scary the whole episode was with many praising the writers for the intense storyline.
One wrote: "Emmerdale is insane this week!! Freaked me out!"
Another added: "I haven't been this engrossed in Emmerdale in a while."
Someone else wrote: "My nerves on edge but how good was that episode? #Emmerdale."
Emmerdale continues Thursday night at 7pm on ITV.
