Corrie actor Ian Kelsey films last scenes as nasty conman Vinny does a runner with residents’ money AND partner-in-crime Pat Phelan’s share
It looks like karma is about to bite Pat Phelan hard
CORONATION Street actor Ian Kelsey has been snapped filming his last scenes on the soap - revealing that his character Vinny Ashford will be making dash with the Weatherfield residents' cash... including partner-in-crime Pat Phelan's own share.
The nasty conman looks like he'll be getting a black cab exit, but not without wrecking a few lives on the way.
Ian Kelsey, who plays villainous Vinny, was photographed locking his door and jumping into a black cab.
He was wearing a bright palm tree-patterned shirt - fitting, considering the fact that he has a one-way ticket to Hawaii.
Later, Pat Phelan appears to realise that something has gone seriously wrong when he turns up at Vinny's house.
He rings on the doorbell but no one is at home.
It's only when one of Vinny's nosy neighbours tells him about his sudden trip that he twigs what's happened.
But it seems as though actor Connor McIntyre, who plays Pat, and Ian got on incredibly well.
Ian jokily pretended to swing a punch at Connor before the pair hugged it out.
He has only been in the soap since the summer, but his character will likely make a big impact on the other residents' lives after stealing all of their money.
They have been running a dodgy property scheme where they have persuaded characters Rita Sullivan and Sarah Platt to dig deep into their pockets to secure a non-existent house.
The actor joined the cast in the summer as an old associate of scheming labourer Pat.
Ian was no novice to soap acting and was a prominent character in Emmerdale 10 years ago.
RELATED STORIES
Speaking on Loose Women in August, he revealed that fans still call him Dave, despite the fact that he was killed off so many years ago.
He has starred in a number of roles since, including Doctors, Casualty and Where the Heart Is, but Emmerdale fans still know and love him as Dave Glover.
The actor told the panel: "I got 'Daved' in Leeds and it was a bit of a shock actually... I haven't been recognised for that character in a long time but it doesn't matter where you go."
He also spoke about going on holiday with family to Sri Lanka, where he was somehow recognised.
Ian said: "We were six hours into the jungle and three hours up a mountain to go and see this swimming pool that this monk had chipped out of a rock... and I got Daved!"
He added: "I couldn't believe it, the guy just went 'Emmerdale'. It was like, how far do you have to go?!"
