He is offered a way out by the smugglers, but he’s not certain if he should take it. And even if he does escape justice, there could be more than just legal trouble heading his way, in the form of the burgeoning affair between Elizabeth and George.

Yet again, Ross’ relationship with Elizabeth threatens his own marriage with Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) after George tries to manipulate the widow into a marriage proposal, and a furious Ross rides through the night to try to stop her.

Yet again, Demelza is not impressed at all. I mean, who wants to see their husband still hanging out with his ex the whole time? Come on, Ross, get it together.

Tutankhamun, 9pm, ITV

World War I is finally coming to an end so Howard Carter (Max Irons) can once again get his moustache dusty in a dig site.

He may fail to find any sign of the tomb and he’s running short of cash, but the arrival of a grown-up Evelyn (Amy Wren) cheers him up and warms his heart.

Can he afford an affair with his benefactor’s daughter? It’s all jolly, jolly good fun.

Fifty years ago, actress Virginia McKenna played naturalist Joy Adamson in classic film Born Free, the story of how Joy came to love lion cub Elsa.

Here, the still-sprightly Virginia travels back to Kenya, where it was filmed, and remembers the amazing (and dangerous) time she had shooting alongside lions.

In a new series of jaunts, Prunella Scales and Timothy West head to the West Country where Timothy is starring as King Lear.

They both take the time to enjoy finding their childhood homes, which brings on emotional memories when Prunella recalls meeting the evacuees from London during World War II. As delightful as ever.
