Mimi Webb’s secret heartbreak inspired new single Ghost Of You

MIMI WEBB’s break-up with her boyfriend has inspired a new single that is already racing up the charts.

She released Ghost Of You on Friday – and told me it is about splitting from her partner of more than a year over the summer.

In an exclusive chat, Mimi said: “It was about taking this sad experience and a difficult time and turning it into a really upbeat, moving-on song.

"It’s something I’ve been through recently and for me, the whole process of this song and releasing it is about putting your happiness first.

“You’ve got to remember your self-worth and self-love.

"When you’re not feeling yourself, you’re not being yourself.

"That’s when you know something’s not right.

“It’s been really personal for me.”

Speaking about the track, which is already at No22 in the midweek charts, she added: “There’s some real empowerment behind it and it’s about going, ‘There’s nothing I can do about it, it’s done, and all I know is that the universe has the best interests at heart for me and I have to go with it."

JUDI RABBITS TO OLLY ABOUT HIS PIC IN LOO

DAME Judi Dench has struck up an unlikely friendship with Years & Years singer Olly Alexander.

The eight-time Oscar-nominated actress even has a drawing by him in her loo.

Appearing on the podcast Acting For Others Presents . . . with Olly Alexander, which is out now, the pair discussed their close friendship.

Judi said: “Do you remember that drawing you did for me? The rabbit?

"It is right in the loo, right beside me. It is so beautiful.”

The James Bond star also revealed her eyesight has become so bad she has to learn her scripts by listening to them.

Judi said: “I can’t read any more, which is very, very boring. I can’t see.

"It’s annoying learning parts.”

The Rhythm Nation star was at a party thrown by Eglo Records, an independent label that has released a long list of edgy albums.

She is 40 years into her career, but Janet has still got her finger on the pulse.

MIKE BINS WOMBLES MASTERS

THE rubbish-collecting Wombles should keep their eyes peeled for the gang’s own music.

Mike Batt, the songwriter behind the pop act’s famous tracks, has chucked master tapes of their records into a skip so people “can’t f*** around with them after I’m gone”.

Mike released four Wombles albums in the Seventies – with hit singles including The Wombling Song and Remember You’re A Womble – but is keen to avoid Beatles-style remixes.

He said: “I mixed them as I wanted them, not how some corporation or great-grandchild might like to remix them when I’m not around.”

It comes after Giles Martin, the son of the late Beatles producer George, remixed and expanded a series of albums with a special edition of the Fab Four’s 1966 album Revolver, due to be released this month.

RED LETTER DAY FOR ALEX

ALEXANDRA BURKE got the memo as she arrived for the screening of movie Pretty Red Dress.

The Bad Boys singer wore this floor-length gown as she stepped out on the red carpet at BFI Southbank to mark her big-screen debut as part of the London Film Festival.

Alexandra plays Candice, a singer who is on the cusp of landing the part of Tina Turner or a musical.

The BBC film follows a South London family whose lives are turned upside down by one red dress.

The X Factor winner appeared alongside West Ham footballer Darren Randolph at the event, after the couple announced the arrival of their first baby in July.

BIRTHDAY-GIRL CARDI PLANS HER FIRST ARENA TOUR OF UK

CARDI B turns 30 today – and it looks like the next decade will be even bigger than the last.

Despite scoring five top ten hits in the UK, including chart-topper WAP, the US rapper has never toured the country before.

However, I have learned she is hoping to line up her first full UK tour of arenas across the country in the next two years.

And it is likely to tie-in with her highly anticipated second album, which fans hope will finally drop next year.

After performing as a headliner at Wireless Festival in Birmingham and London in July, Cardi B now wants to start plans for her own shows here.

A source said: “Cardi’s performance at Wireless cemented her status as a major artist in the UK and her team think the next move is to have her playing bigger shows across the UK.

“Cardi has proven that she has an enormous fan base here and her team want to capitalise on her popularity.

“Following the re- lease of her next album they want to pencil in a handful of dates in big arenas.

“She’s one of the biggest acts in the world and this will show fans what a great performer she is.”

RIHANNA HAS NEW NUMBERS

RIHANNA is racing to finish new music ahead of her big comeback.

She kept her head in the game by wearing an American football jersey while heading to an LA music studio, ahead of her Super Bowl half-time performance in February.

In the past week she has been coming and going from studios, so it looks like fresh tracks are on the way.

She admitted being “nervous” about the Super Bowl slot but as one of the best in the business, I’ve no doubt she’ll smash it.
