Jimmy Carr ‘being sued by his own DAD for defamation’ after a bitter two decade-long feud
COMEDIAN Jimmy Carr is being sued by his own father following a bitter 20 year feud, it is reported.
It’s claimed Jim Carr Snr is “sick and tired” of the “false characterisation” the 8 Out Of 10 Cats host presents of his dad.
Tensions are said to have escalated between stand-up Jimmy, 50, and Jim, 77, after the publication of the funnyman’s memoir, Before and Laughter.
A source told Jim has taken legal action and said: “The last thing Jim wanted to do was take his own son to court, but enough is enough.
“He’s sick and tired of this false characterisation of himself that is being presented.
“Jimmy’s snide comments about his dad have been going on for years.

“The straw that broke the camel’s back was this new book and some of the things he has been saying on podcasts.”
“I know it’s fashionable nowadays not to get on with your father, but Jim’s had enough of the lies.
“He is a businessman and has a reputation to defend.
“The only way to put a stop to the nonsense is by suing for defamation.”
Jimmy has previously told how he cut contact with his dad following the death of his mother Nora in 2001.
He told a podcast: “I haven’t seen my dad in 21 years and you know the line, ‘My mother’s dead and my father’s dead to me’ – which sounds very cold, until you meet the guy.”
Back in February, Jimmy caused wider controversy when he was slammed by then-UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson about what Jimmy deemed joke centred on the Holocaust.
Jimmy was called out for a sick joke about the genocide, with Downing Street wading in to condemn the gag.
The comedian’s one-hour Netflix special, His Dark Material, was first broadcast at the end of last year but the clip of the joke has been recently shared widely on social media.
As the row over the gag escalated over the weekend, the former Prime Minister’s official spokesman said: “Those comments are deeply disturbing and it’s unacceptable to make light of genocide.”
He added the Government is “toughening measures for social media and streaming platforms who don’t tackle harmful content”.
Asked whether Netflix should pull the show, the spokesman said: “That will be a matter for them.
“We are clear that mocking the atrocities of the Holocaust is unacceptable.”
Jimmy’s new Netflix series has also raised eyebrows after his comments on Osama Bin Laden and the 9/11 terrorist atrocities.
