My famous exes brought problems to my life – I’d rather be alone than make the same mistakes, says Chantelle Houghton

THREE-times engaged Chantelle Houghton says not afraid to be alone as she celebrates the final year of her 30s.

The Big Brother legend insists she's happy being single - and has sworn off inviting "problems" into her life.

Chantelle told The Sun: "I'm not in a relationship with anyone, I'm not seeing anyone - I'm not even texting anyone.

"I'm OK with that. You have to live in the present.

"I'm alone right now, I'm not with anyone but I'm ok. Nothing bad is happening.

"I'm not the kind of person to be with someone for the sake of being with someone.

"I'd rather be on my own, rather than be sat on the sofa with someone who drives you around the bend and you don't want to be romantic with, just for the sake of saying 'oh I'm with somebody'.

"If someone comes along, someone comes along, but I'm not fearful of being OK.

"I'm not desperate for somebody. I want someone to add to my life, not take from me, which is previously what I've had.

"I'm not allowing anyone to invite problems into my life."

Chantelle famously married singer Samuel Preston after falling in love in the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2006.

She found fame by faking her celebrity status in a secret mission - and ended up winning the show.

But their love story sadly ended when they divorced in November the following year.

She enjoyed a relationship with Crimewatch presenter Rav Wilding in 2010 - but famously split in 2011 following a public row.

Later that year she had a whirlwind relationship with Katie Price's ex Alex Reid.

The pair got engaged before having a baby in 2012, but split months later.

Chantelle thought she'd found The One in 2020 when she got engaged to property developer and alloy wheel repairer Michael Strutt after just a few months of dating.

They called it quits a year later, but remain close friends.

Chantelle crept over 13st while in a "dark place" last year - soon after splitting from Michael.

Determined to change her life around after strangers mistakenly congratulated her on being pregnant, Chantelle says she feels ";reborn" after shedding the pounds.

"I'm not just talking rubbish, I seriously love it," added Chantelle.

"It saves me going to the supermarket - it gets delivered to your door. Everything is done for you and there's minimal preparation.

"The food tastes really good, but it's really healthy for you. I didn't feel like I was restricting myself by not able to have takeouts.
