THIS Morning stand in Christine Bleakley appeared to compare the Loose Women to dogs on Tuesday’s show.
Speaking during a segment about viewers’ pets, Christine made a joke to her co-host Phillip Schofield and said of one of the snaps - where a dog was watching television - and said it was like “Loose Pugs”.
After their pets pictures feature ended, Phillip awkwardly said to Christine that the Loose Women were coming up next and the panel, headed up by Ruth Langsford, suddenly appeared on screen.
As Christine squirmed, Ruth said: “We used to think you were nice Christine!”
The Loose Women continued their teaser of the show and when the camera returned to Christine and Phillip, Christine tried to make her peace.
She asked Phillip: “Can you please explain next time?” to which he replied: “No I’m going to leave you hanging!
“You’ve only been here for two days and look what you’ve done!”
Christine will stand in for Holly Willoughby, who won’t appear on the programme all this week.
An ITV spokesperson told The Sun online: “Just like in previous half term breaks Phil and Holly have split the time off.
“Phillip and Christine are back hosting Monday to Thursday this week with Eamonn and Ruth on Friday.
“Then next week Holly will be back with Ben Shephard for Monday to Thursday and then Rylan and Dan will present on Friday.”
Christine, 37, is no stranger to the famous ITV sofa having taken over Holly’s roles while she was off on maternity leave.
On Monday she revealed that she hasn’t forgotten her old early morning stats coping strategy as she tweeted a photograph of herself drinking a cup of coffee at 7:27am, adding it was the “first of the day”.
She joked: “First coffee of the day! See you soon @thismorning @Schofe”.
Holly is likely to be tuned in from home seeing how the show is getting on without her.
She and Christine are firm friends, and often socialise together with their respectivehusbands, producer Dan Baldwin and footballer Frank Lampard.
Fans found out about today's change via the show's Facebook page.
The usual timeline pic of Phil and Holly cryptically became Phil and Christine.
One fan commented: "I like Christine as a step in, good luck!!!"
