Alan Sugar uses Good Morning Britain appearance to hit back at Donald Trump’s claims that he was too POOR to host The Apprentice

Lord Sugar laughed off Trump's assertions about his finances and goaded the former US Apprentice host to fire him

LORD Alan Sugar used his appearance on Good Morning Britain today to hit back at Donald Trump's claims he was initially considered too poor to host the UK version of The Apprentice.

Lord Sugar was interviewed by long-time sparring partner Piers Morgan, who played him footage in which Trump - who starred in the US version of The Apprentice - poked fun at his British counterpart.

Dismissing the claim as "rubbish", Lord Sugar said: "I once challenged him, saying look let's write a cheque out for £100million and present to the bank and see which one got paid.

"He said: 'If you got £100million you're not a good businessman'".

Piers then asked Lord Sugar if he could write that cheque and The Apprentice host stated: "Absolutely."

Piers then joked that Lord Sugar should add the name "Piers Morgan" to that cheque.
