Patsy Kensit’s ‘love rat’ fiancé was with another woman right up until he proposed to her

ACTRESS Patsy Kensit’s fiance is a “love rat” who was with another woman up until he proposed to the former soap star.

Multi-millionaire property tycoon Patric Cassidy, 58, ditched Julia Simons, 39, the day before the big news broke.

He told Julia in a text message their relationship was over because she “needed someone near her own age” — then ghosted her.

Hostess Julia now wants to warn Patsy about the man who showered her with affection and gifts before leaving her heartbroken.

Julia from Harborne, Birmingham said: “It’s not fair on her, or me.

“I had no clue he was dating Patsy as well. I feel so sorry for her. I hope she sees him for what he truly is — a heartless love rat.”

The Sun revealed in early September that ex-Emmerdale star Patsy, 54, was to marry for a fifth time when Patric proposed after a whirlwind five-week romance.

Patric asked Patsy to marry him at Scott’s restaurant in London in front of hundreds of other diners.

They then bought the whole room Cristal champagne.

A friend of the couple ­confirmed this to The Sun and provided the newspaper quotes. 

Julia had met Patric in July while hostessing at Birmingham’s Edgbaston cricket ground.

She said: “He gave me his card with his number and told me he’d left me a note but not to read it until he had gone.

“The note, on a napkin, said I looked so Irish with dark hair, green eyes and was gorgeous.

“It said to be gentle with him and that he missed me already. I was flattered.”

The pair had a first date at a swanky restaurant. Patric then flew Julia to the Wimbledon women’s tennis final in a helicopter from his home near Leamington Spa.

Julia said: “He was so charming and romantic. I thought he was an old-school gentleman.

“He was really funny and we had a great time.”

Patric continued to wine and dine Julia and even took her shopping.

But she said it was not about the money and that she most enjoyed cosy nights they spent together on the sofa watching TV.

She added: “I really thought I had found the one. He bought me ­teddies and wrote that he loved me on napkins.

“He sent my mum flowers for her birthday.”

But on September 6 Patric cancelled a meal out with her.

She now knows it was the day he was proposing to Patsy.

Two days later he sent the text ending their relationship.

Julia said: “He had never mentioned our age gap before. I think it was all he could think of saying.”

She added: “I was so shocked when I saw the story. I messaged Patric but he just ghosted me.”

Model Patsy has previously been wed to musician Dan Donovan, Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr, Oasis star Liam Gallagher and DJ Jeremy Healy.

Her agent declined to comment, as did and Patric.
