Honey G gets a standing ovation as Simon Cowell reveals she is his ‘guilty pleasure’… but viewers are less sure
The rapper sang her own version of Mo Money Mo Problems
CONTROVERSIAL act Honey G got a standing ovation from the audience tonight on the X Factor for her performance of Motown classic 'Mo Money Mo Problems'.
The music mogul even admitted that the rapper had become his "guilty pleasure" on the show.
The 57-year-old said: "You've really turned it around.
"You shut it down! You are now my guilty pleasure, I cannot wait to see you and the dancing was brilliant."
He continued: "You and Sharon are two peas in a pod - fantastic."
Nicole was impressed too, adding: "You have the mentality of a rapper.
Nicole agreed gushing: "Honey you shut. it. down."
But some viewers didn't agree with Simon and took to Twitter to voice their views.
One wrote: "My brain doesn't know what to think of any of this."
Another posted: "I honestly feel embarrassed to be British right now, how are we actually ACTUALLY allowing her to do this!.. Like how??!"
Someone else simply said: "Is she just going to sing her name for her songs every week?!"
But some enjoyed her version of the song.
But some others just thought it was a laugh writing: "I really like how much fun Honey G is having, she's no singer, but she's having the time of her life! Good for her I say."
Despite the controversy, Honey G is determined to make it the whole way telling Simon "We're going all the way with this one!"
She also declared she could have the Christmas number one.
Louis Walsh shocked his fellow judges when he asked Honey G if she was David Cameron in a wig after her performance.
The Irish judge said: “You know what all my friends are saying to be in Dublin – they are saying it is David Cameron in a wig.”
Sharon was outraged shouting: “How dare you! And how dare your friends!”
But it didn't faze Honey who replied: “I just shrug it off.”
