Whigfield found fame for her hit, Saturday Night

Singer Whigfield, famed for her hit Saturday Night, posed in a white logo top with her locks in loose waves flowing down one shoulder.

As she stood in front of a kitchen clock Whigfield - real name Sannie Charlotte Carlson - wrote in her caption: "Hey guys 😊 Happy weekend🎈

"I haven't really felt like posting anything these past few weeks. Still a bit down after losing my beloved doggie 😕

"Gonna be good to getting back to work this weekend.

"Anyhow, wishing you a happy weekend whatever you've up to❤."

Fans were quick to hail the singer ";too precious" and a "beauty."

Back in 2019, Whigfield stunned Lorraine show fans as she revealed her wrinkle-free face.

Whigfield told Lorraine that she's achieved her healthy look by cutting out "naughty things" and "eating and exercising and drinking water".

Despite not having a major hit in the UK since Saturday Night in 1994, the blonde bombshell, who rocked boob tubes and baggy cargo pants back in the day, is still making music.

She released Think Of You in 2007 and No Doubt in 2009 but nothing has reached the heady heights of her dance-along smash.

Back in 2013, she re-recorded her Saturday Night with Carlprit.

Yet she has since revealed she things the tune is "a bit naff" when she is encouraged to perform it.

She told : "I got sick of it in the mid-90s because I performed it so much, you know when you have to sell a song it’s not the same as [performing it live].

"When I had to do television and promotion generally, it’s not the same as when you go out on stage and perform it.

"They’re two different things. So I still love doing it in festivals, but if I have to do it on TV shows and stuff it’s a bit naff."

Meanwhile, in 2018, Whigfield released the track Boys on Girls and revealed she was going by the name Sannie.

She recently revealed that the song almost didn’t become the success it is because no one wanted to sign it.

The star told : “I do my job well, and I’m still doing a lot of revival tours as Whigfield.

“In the beginning, I was sad because no-one wanted to sign the song at all.

“They thought it was absolute c**p – that tells you that the public decide if a song is going to be a hit or not. It was the audience that made up the dance, so everything was made by the people.”
