Michael Buble says he feared he would have to give up singing career if recent vocal cord surgery had taken a turn for the worse
Singer said he would have come to terms with it as being a dad gives him perspective
MICHAEL BUBLE feared he would have to give up singing if surgery on his vocal cords in June had gone wrong.
The nicest man in music told me: “Being a dad gave me something that I couldn’t have got anywhere else and it gave me context.
"So I thought, at the worst, at least I had a great run and I’ve loved what I do.”
Michael – who I revealed will host next year’s Brit Awards – has come back bolder than ever after his surgery success with new album Nobody But Me out next week.
He said: “For the first time in my life, I decided I would take great control by producing my record.”

Ed's away but it still pays
He’s taken nearly the whole of this year off.
But that hasn’t stopped ED SHEERAN from raking in £11million.
The huge sum revealed in his company’s latest accounts allowed the singer to pocket a tidy salary of £5.2million. Ed no doubt spent some of it enjoying himself on his travels around the world.
But the holiday will soon be over as Ed gets back to business of releasing new material.
He wasn’t the only star rolling in it.
Pop’s wild boy ROBBIE WILLIAMS also earned an extra £3million last year – from companies he owns linked to his 40-date world stadium tour and trendy clothing range.
That took his total earnings to £17million – and that’s before he releases new album Heavy Entertainment Show – his first for three years – next month.
He’ll like those sums.
Vamps act up
THE VAMPS are not just one of the friendliest pop acts around – they are also the most entertaining.
They took over my Facebook page yesterday to announce they have teamed up with producer MATOMA on their new single All Night which is out this Friday. And BRAD SIMPSON, JAMES McVEY, CONNOR BALL and TRISTAN EVANS did not need my permission to throw an impromptu party in my studios, to celebrate.
The band, whose new single is “more dancey” than previous tracks, cracked open the prosecco and revealed their celebrity crushes – most of them actresses. Brad admitted ZOOEY DESCHANEL was his ideal woman, Tristan has the hots for Suicide Squad’s MARGOT ROBBIE and Connor lusts after ANNA KENDRICK.
Meanwhile, James joked the A-Lister of his dreams is singer SHAWN MENDES.
Good choice, James.
Joe's X moves
JOE JONAS has given us all some much-needed education in safe sex – and not just in his seriously X-rated new “sex tape” vid.
The DNCE frontman has revealed how he raided his drummer’s room in search of a condom before losing his virginity to Twilight actress ASHLEY GREENE.
Joe said: “I demolished his room looking for them. I found them underneath his underwear drawer.
“When he came home, he thought somebody broke in.
