In an interview with People magazine, Janet said: “We thank God for our blessing.”

Speculation Janet was expecting a baby started in April when she cancelled her tour for personal reasons.

She said: “I thought it was important that you be the first to know, my husband and I are planning our family, so I'm going to have to delay the tour.”

Janet has not spoken publicly since then but was recently spotted showing off her enormous bump at a London’s Back In Action furniture shop, with eyewitnesses saying she was looking at items for a nursery.

Fans of  the singer gushed over Janet's amazing shoot with People.

An insider told the magazine: “She is super excited about her pregnancy and is doing extremely well.

“She actually feels very good about everything.”

In 2009, Janet admitted she wanted children, telling Harper’s Bazaar: “'I think that if I'm really supposed to have kids, it will happen, if that's God's plan for me.

“I would hope my legacy would be bringing smiles to faces.

Also, to make babies. I've had so many people come up to me and say, ‘My child was conceived by listening to your music.’”

Janet married retail tycoon Wissam in 2012, with Janet saying of their ceremony: “'Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony.

“Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favourite children’s charities.”

Janet’s full interview with People Magazine is out on Friday.
