An old colleague has announced they'll be joining him on the show

CHRIS Stark has made a big name for himself in the world of entertainment.

The popular presenter can be heard co-hosting Capital FM's Breakfast show on weekdays from 6am-10am.

Who is Chris Stark?

Christopher Francis Stark is a British radio personality born on March 12, 1987.

He was raised in Pinner, North-West London.

He is best known for his work as the co-host on popular radio shows such as the Scott Mills radio show and That Peter Crouch Podcast.

Stark started working at Radio Northwick Park when he was 16 and gained experience working at stations including Galaxy, Real Radio, Virgin Radio and BBC 6 Music.

At 18, he attended the University of Southampton where he studied politics and zoology.

While at Southampton, Stark was given his own show on the student radio station, Surge.

When did Chris Stark join Capital Breakfast?

Chris announced that he would be leaving Radio 1 in August 2022 to pursue new projects. 

It was then revealed that Stark would join Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp and Sian Welby in October.

Speaking about joining Capital, he said: "I couldn’t be more excited to be joining Global, working across a variety of amazing projects.

"I’ve known Roman a long time and often joked over a beer it’d be great to work together on something big one day – and now here we are."

He added: "I cannot wait to get started on Capital Breakfast and in my new creative executive producer role. Let’s make some moments.

"And then to be asked to lead on Global Player’s sports podcast content is just the icing on the cake."

Radio 1’s Chris Stark breaks down in tears and sobs as he hosts final show with Scott Mills

On February 21, 2024, it was announced Chris will be joined by his old Radio 1 colleague Jordan North, following Roman's departure from the station.

Chris, who has worked with Jordan before, said: “I’m buzzing for this amazing opportunity to be reunited with Jordan on the radio again.

"Together with Sian, the three of us are so excited to bring you the new Capital Breakfast Show. It’s going to be a LOT of fun!”

What radio shows has Chris Stark hosted?

Stark officially joined the Scott Mills show in April 2012, but occasionally appeared on the show as "Scott's friend Chris" for a period of time prior to this.

He appeared in most of the show's ongoing features including Real or No Real, Innuendo Bingo, 24 Years at the Tap End, and Bamboleo Wednesday.

On July 1, 2022, it was announced that Mills and Stark would both be leaving Radio 1 after 24 years and 10 years on air respectively.

Is Chris Stark married and does he have any children?

Stark married his wife Ria Holland at Almiral de La Font in 2018.

Not much is known about the pair as they like to keep their relationship private.

They have a daughter, Erin, born in 2015.

In July 2020, Chris announced he had become a father for the second time, writing: "Our little lad is here. My wife is incredible."

The Watford FC fan jokingly said they had called their new son Troy Ian Bango Stark.
