Tameka Empson’s dig at Anastacia as she reveals she danced through injury during tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing dance-off
The Eastenders actress was kicked off tonight's show after she lost out in the dance-off against Laura Whitmore
STRICTLY Come Dancing viewers were left outraged after ANASTACIA was given exemption from the show’s first dance off due to an injury.
And while EastEnders star TAMEKA EMPSON was also suffering painful injuries during last night’s show – she still had to do the dance off against LAURA WHITMORE.
The actress was later booted from the show — and made a sly dig at fellow contestant Anastacia in the process.
Tameka also made sure to flaunt her knee brace during her last dance with pro partner GORKA MARQUEZ during the show recording.
Following her axing from the competition, Tameka said: “I did have injuries today but I didn’t really want to focus on that but it was always going to be tough in the whole competition but I’m really gutted that I’m leaving today.
“I’ve got a back injury now and I really went with the pain.”
Thousands of viewers hit out at producers in the opening competitive show after they took the decision to spare singer Anastacia from the dance-off after she was injured – with MELVIN ODOOM being voted off instead.
LATEST FROM BIZARRE
It sparked claims that bosses conveniently chose to go with the public vote after Anastacia was left unable to perform again as she damaged scar tissue left by cancer surgery.
And, according to show insiders, Tameka, who plays Kim Fox in EastEnders, was left fuming that she was also not given immunity from the dance off despite sustaining a host of injuries.
A source revealed: “Tameka thought it was unfair that producers allowed Anastacia to skip the dance off due to an injury but she was still forced to do it despite harbouring several agonising injuries.
“It seems as though show producers have one rule for some and different rules for others.”
Tameka became the second contestant to leave Strictly last night after she failed to impress viewers at home with her Beverly Hills Cop performance to The Heat Is On.
It certainly is.
