Birds of a Feather star says she has her "Dorien figure back"

BIRDS of a Feather star Lesley Joseph has revealed her joy at losing half a stone from her rehearsals.

The 70-year-old has wowed audiences with her cheeky cha chas and elegant waltzes with partner Anton du Beke.

Speaking to The Mirror the actress revealed: “I've got my Dorien figure back. I was nervous I wouldn’t be able to keep up but I’m fitter than ever. My thighs are like rock.

“I have lost half a stone already.”

She also admitted she feels about 35, despite heading towards her 71st birthday this Friday.

She even joked that she's been wearing Anton out.

Claiming: "He asks if we can have a break and I tell him we can’t. I think he knows who’s wearing the trousers.”

When asked how she says so fit, she put it down to good genes remarking that her mother lived to 102 and was line dancing until she was 98.

Lesley is filming new episodes of Birds of a Feather as well and battling it out on the dance floor.

She is on location in Malta next week and Aton will fly out to join her to keep up rehearsals.

Lesley also revealed that she refuses to watch the shows after they air because it's too late to fix any mistakes. However she insists on watching back rehearsal tapes and making notes to help her improve.

Craig Revel Hor­­wood and Lesley job-shared last year as they both played the part of Annie, but she's glad he doesn't treat her any differently.

She said: “We both played Miss Hannigan – I covered for him when he was on Strictly. Two more different Hannigans you won’t see. He’s no nicer to me for that – but I wouldn’t want him to be.”
