BECKY Vardy has made a cutting comment about Coleen Rooney's marriage troubles - despite insisting "life is too short to be resentful".

Speaking for the first time since the High Court defeat last Friday, the 40-year-old has opened up about her friendship with Coleen before their Wagatha Christie libel battle.

Asked if she offered Coleen a place to live when she and husband Wayne were having problems, Becky giggles: “Which time was this?”

She continues in a tell-all interview with The Sun: “I did. And that was genuine. An act of solidarity. To say, ‘Look, I am here if you need me. What you are going through is horrible and I wouldn’t want anyone to go through it.’”

Becky says: “It’s a bit of a bitter pill to swallow but life goes on. That is not my beef.  I don’t want to look at people and think, ‘Well I did that for you so you should’ve done this for me.’”

Childhood sweethearts Coleen and Wayne have been together for 20 years and are proud parents to four gorgeous boys.

But it hasn't all been plain sailing - with the couple facing numerous controversies during their marriage.

In 2004, the Sunday Mirror reported that a teenage Rooney had paid £140 for sex with prostitute Charlotte Glover, then 21, and gave her his autograph as a “souvenir”.

That same year he was said to have slept with Gina McCarrick, then 37, at a £45-a-go brothel in Liverpool.

The football star visited the brothel 10 times, and was caught on CCTV.

It was at this same brothel that he was said to have slept with grandmother Patricia Tierney, then 48, who wore a rubber catsuit and was known as the "Auld Slapper".

In 2010 Helen Wood claimed Wayne had paid for a threesome with Jenny Thompson.

In 2017 Coleen was left fuming again when her husband was caught in a car with Laura Simpson and tested positive for drink-driving.

Wayne was sentenced to 100 hours community service, after admitting to drink-driving.

Back in August 2019, the married former England ace, 35, was pictured laughing and joking with a mystery brunette — dressed in a skimpy white top and high heels — at the end of the mammoth booze-up.

When their husbands played for England, Coleen and Becky were often seen together in the crowd.

Becky insists she was a support to Coleen amid her marriage troubles after forming a bond as fellow WAGs.

But during the trial, a witness for Coleen claimed former I’m A Celeb contestant Becky deliberately sat behind the  Liverpudlian at the 2016 Euros clash with Wales.

Her pal then went on to accuse her of leaking stories in a bombshell message ending: “It’s . . . Rebekah Vardy’s account.”

Despite a devastating verdict, which cost Becky millions, she extended an olive branch to Coleen during the interview, saying: “I’d take her for a coffee.”

She says: “If I saw her in the street tomorrow, I’d ask her if she wanted to go for a Caffe Nero.

“Life is too short to be resentful and hold grudges and be bitter towards someone. That is not me. I am not that person.”

Becky reveals she has twice been hospitalised with mental health issues since the Wagatha Christie row erupted in October 2019.

She has seen a string of counsellors and was put on medication to alleviate her anxiety. Becky was subsequently diagnosed with depression and put on anti-depressants – which she is now off.

The mum of five believes she has PTSD since the court case, adding: "I feel physically sick when I talk about the trial and what happened, and I have nightmares. I haven’t gone to get a diagnosis yet but I do know I probably need some more therapy. It’s been a horrible time.”
