Emmerdale’s grieving Moira buries tragic daughter Holly – but estranged husband Cain is nowhere to be seen
The distraught mother watches as her child's coffin is lowered into the ground
EMMERDALE'S Moira will be left in pieces as she says a final farewell to her tragic daughter Holly Barton on the day of her funeral.
In scenes aired next week, the grieving mother, played by Natalie J. Robb, is distraught as she watches Holly's coffin lowered into the ground.
But as she looks around for additional support from her estranged husband Cain, she is dismayed when she realises he hasn't turned up.
Fans of the soap were left reeling after the shock death last week which saw Holly overdose.
Holly has been battling a drug addiction for months but seemed to be on the up after starting a relationship in secret with Jai Sharma.
However, the mainly light-hearted episode took a dark turn when Holly collapsed after relapsing into her heroin addiction and never woke up.
The young girl’s body was discovered by her mum Moira and brother Adam in heart-wrenching scenes that are now threatening to destroy the family.
Moira just sobbed as she muttered the words “she’s gone” to her family.
The only indication was rumours that actress Sophie Powles, who played the ill-fated Holly Barton, was to leave the show – but even then there was no confirmation.
