Sharon Osbourne left red-faced on X Factor after saying Finnish star Saara Aalto was from Norway during live shows
Her fellow judges were quick to notice the mistake - and didn't let her forget it.
SHARON Osbourne found herself with her foot in her mouth on tonight's X Factor when she accidentally made one but TWO errors during her introduction for Saara Aalto.
Finnish-born Saara Aalto is in Sharon's Over 25 group in this year's competition after being picked as a wildcard by one of her fellow judges.
Sharon originally said that it was Nicole who added her to the team, but then was corrected by Simon who said it was actually him who put her through.
But the biggest mistake came when she said that Saara came from Norway - and was panned by her fellow judges as well as the audience at home for making the error.
As Dermot handed over the reigns to Sharon, she said the star has come "all the way from Norway" at which point the rest of the judges and some of the audiences yell back "Finland!" to correct her again.
Saara then stunned with a performance of Let It Go from Disney musical Frozen - leaving Nicole comparing her to the original singer, Idina Menzel.
Louis couldn't help but make a dig after the performance and told Saara: "I know you're from Finland!"
Simon Cowell then added: "That was absolutely visually incredible. Amazing Saara. Amazing."
Sharon later said: "I don't care where you're from because you can sing, and you're incredible."
Dermot O'Leary then teased Sharon even more for her gaff, asking her if she now knew where Saara was from.
Sharon then deadpanned: "Abroad. She's from abroad."
The judges came under fire by Twitter users on tonight's show as their erratic behaviour led some to think that the foursome had been drinking before the show started.
During the show Sharon referred to Bratavio as the "ugly sisters in a good way" and also squabbled between themselves throughout the evening.
After criticising Emily Middlemas's song choice of Closer by the Chainsmokers, Simon snapped: "Shut up. Just shut up."
This week's song choice theme is 'Express Yourself' - where the twelve acts are given the opportunity to perform a song they feel best showcases their talent.
Sunday night's episode will see Dermot O'Leary reveal the first contestants to be eliminated after being put to the public vote.
In a new twist for this year, song themes for the following weeks haven't been pre-determined, and will be decided on Sunday night by a mechanical jukebox wheel.
Themes up for grabs include Oscars, Boy Band vs Girl Band, Disco, Motown, 80’s, Divas and Louis Loves (the Louis Walsh collection).
Catch The X Factor, Saturday and Sunday on ITV1.
