BLONDE BOND-SHELL

James Bond star Daniel Craig reveals new Bond villain style hairdo – before hinting that he’s not finished being in the franchise

The actor looked like he had been taking fashion tips from assassin Donald Grant from From Russia With Love

DANIEL Craig has revealed a surprise new look at this year's New Yorker Festival and has traded in his mousey blonde hair for something more platinum.

The 48-year-old actor, who is most famed for playing the sixth incarnation of James Bond, bore a striking resemblance to Robert Shaw - who played the villain Donald Grant in the 1963 Bond movie, From Russia with Love.

His new 'do didn't come without reason however, as the actor is currently filming Logan Lucky, a Stephen Soderbergh film that required him to make the transformation.

Daniel appeared at the festival to discuss life after Bond with acclaimed writer Nicholas Schmidle - but expressed a regret at the time he publicly slammed the idea of ever working in the franchise again.

During the conversation, he revealed: "As far as I'm concerned, I've got the best job in the world. I'll keep doing it as long as I still get a kick out of it."

He later added: "If I were to stop doing it, I would miss it terribly."

Last year, Daniel upset fans by saying he would "rather slit his wrists" than play the titular character again - but admitted at the festival that the role was "a good gig he enjoyed".

On the comment, he said: "They say that s*** sticks - and that definitely stuck.

Since then, rumours have been rife over who will take over the role when Daniel steps down from it - including front runner Aiden Turner and Tom Hiddleston.

Idris Elba has also been considered by fans as a fitting replacement and would be the first black James Bond, and X Files star Gillian Anderson also threw her hat into the ring to be the first female James Bond by teasing fans with a mock poster on Twitter.

The 47-year-old wrote: "It's Bond. Jane Bond."

But producers have since revealed that they are keen to get Daniel to remain - and have reportedly offered him over £110million for two more movies.

Speaking on Radio 4’s Today programme, executive producer Callum McDougall said the star was “absolutely the first choice” of producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.

“I know they’re hoping for him to come back,” he admitted.
