'BAD NEIGHBOURS'

This Morning host Holly Willoughby angers neighbours with plans to add two-storey extension to her £3million mansion

Holly and her TV producer husband Dan have lodged 'flawed' plans according to their neighbours

HOLLY Willoughby might be the darling of daytime TV but her neighbours in Richmond are not happy with the This Morning host as she plans to add a two-storey extension to her £3million mansion.

The blonde beauty and her TV producer husband Dan Baldwin have left their neighbours unimpressed over what they claim are "flawed" building plans.

Her beautiful Edwardian house boasts five bedrooms but Holly wants to add two more.

However, neighbours have objected to her plans for more sleeping quarters because the house is in a conservation area and they claim the large extension would "compromise the character and appearance of the building".

Holly's quest for her dream house isn't the first time she has clashed with her neighbours.

The couple have been accused of keeping the street awake with their late night house parties, claims Holly and Dan have always strongly denied.

When they last had work done on their house, neighbours complained that they caused excessive disruption to the street.

However, Holly's extension plans don't end there as it appears she is also planning on adding a basement to their home.

Holly and Dan submitted the plans for an extension to the first and second floors in July.

Their neighbours were quick to complain saying the building works would "disturb the area" as well as "breach conservation rules".

Another damning complaint includes the accusation that the couple have tried to "exploit" the planning system with the design of their extension.

Objectors claim the couple are using an "unsympathetic" extension they built back in 2012 to persuade the council to approve their new extension.

Four years ago, the couple - who have three children - built a flat-roofed, ground floor extension, which they said would "enhance" the original features of their house.

However, they now say that "the building has been unsympathetically extended with the addition of flat roof elements" and they want to build on top of it.

Residents have submitted a number of objection letters to the local council saying their application process is "flawed" and that if their new plans are approved it would set a "bad precedent".

Neighbours Dr Christina Atchison and Kirsty Brown wrote: "The justification made by the applicants regarding using the proposed alterations to remove out of context flat roof ground floor extensions, is flawed.

"Firstly, it was the present applicants who made these unsympathetic extensions in 2012, secondly it would set a bad precedent and send the wrong message that house owners can exploit their previous poor developments as a justification for further development.

The new row comes after someone claiming to be a neighbour wrote an anonymous letter saying Holly and Dan had a raucous party.

Dan responded by emailing their 50 neighbours asking them to help him track down the person who wrote the letter.

Mr Baldwin denied the pair caused any noise on the night in question and said they were watching US TV show Nashville.

Holly and Dan's planning application was refused after the council received the objection letters and the couple now have six weeks to appeal the decision.

They have also submitted an application to add a basement but it has not yet been reviewed by Richmond Council.
