Actor Ted Reilly has teased his new storyline but will it see him join the growing number of characters leaving the Square?
Since Johnny Carter returned to Walford he hasn't been very busy but that's all set to change.
Actor Ted Reilly, who plays Mick and Linda's youngest son in EastEnders, has revealed that he's about to get much busier with a huge new storyline to put him at the centre of the drama.
However, with EastEnders' new boss Sean O'Connor, giving the show a shake-up, many characters have been axed leading to concerns that fan-favourite Johnny could be next.
Soap fans will welcome the news of a big storyline for Johnny after flocking to social media to complain that he was being underused.
One viewer tweeted: "They really do need to give Johnny some stronger storylines! What was the point of him coming back? #eastenders"
Another added: "#EastEnders give Johnny something to do FFS!"
Viewers are even clamouring for the law student to get it together with Steven Beale after the pair shared a brief moment of flirtation when Ian Beale's adopted son returned to the Square.
It comes after it was revealed that some of the cast are worried about being killed off by the new showrunner after it emerged favourites Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell, played by Samantha Womack and Rita Simons, are to be killed off in an explosive new storyline.
"People are worried who's going to be next," a source previously told The Sun.
"The script for Roxy and Ronnie's deaths has been written, but none of the actors know what's going to happen."
The news comes following news that Kellie Bright, who plays Linda Carter, is taking a six-month break from the show to focus on motherhood, while Annette Badland, who plays Aunt Babe, and Ellen Thomas, who plays Claudette Hubbard will also both be taking breaks.
Rita will be leaving alongside her onscreen sister Samantha Womack who plays Ronnie Mitchell
