Who is Pascal Duvier? Kim Kardashian’s bodyguard and Judo professional – five things you didn’t know
BODYGUARD Pascal Duvier was launched into the spotlight last year when his client Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris during his absence.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians beauty was targeted in a terrifying ordeal which saw her tied up and £9million worth of her bling stolen, as well as two mobile phones.
Kim has never put any blame on her mate and protector, who arrived minutes after the culprits had fled the scene.
Meanwhile he formerly warned robbers "we will find you", even though he was subject of scrutiny by cops probing the raid.
Officials have confirmed that at least 17 people have been arrested in connection with the armed robbery, the leader of the Kardashian klan has sobbed about her ordeal.
As the mystery of the burglary continues to dominate the headlines, here are five things you probably didn't know about the bodyguard that failed to sprijng to his client's defence.
His vital stats
Pascal, 43, is an ex Army man with some serious muscle to boot.
At 6ft4 and weighing 19 stone, he makes a serious physical impact and maintains his honed body and impressive strength with frequent trips to the gym.
The social-media savvy bodyguard, who is chairman of his own firm Protect Security, shows just how intense his workouts are by posting videos of his sweaty sessions online.
To replicate them, you'll need some ropes, tyres and very heavy weights.
He's also a Judo fanatic yet could not leap to Kim's defence during the attack.
Off duty, the German is a dad-of-two.
Kim came second
While she's usually the first to bag the attention, glam and all-round celebrity spotlight, Kim was actually Pascal's second choice.
Their working relationship came about after he was employed to protect her husband, rapper Kanye West in 2013 and was later tasked with protecting him during his Yeezy tour the following year.
Since then, he has looked after the couple as a duo.
He's a fan of inspirational quotes
Pascal's clearly a fan of mental as well as physical strength.
His Twitter page is fulled with inspirational comments and life musings.
Recently, he posted: "Don't get caught up in the problem. Utilise the time to find the solution," as well as the message: "It's always better if you listen to understand than listen to reply."
He may be short of money
Pascal filed for bankruptcy earlier this year at a court in Germany.
He launched a claim for company insolvency on July 22 which related to Protect Security and its debts of 1,093,518 Euros.
He has been at the helm for the past 19 years and lists a host of showbiz clients such as The Pussycat Dolls, Justin Timberlake and Will.i.am on his books.
The insolvency lawyer on the case'There is so much debt. There are many claimants. I cannot say the exact number. Lots.
Some conspiracy theorists have accused Kanye West of staging the robbery to cash in on the insurance, but Pascal's own debts are yet to be called into question.
As sure as eggs
Because they are the hardman's favourite grub.
He is reported to chow down 18 each and every day.
We wonder if he prefers fried or boiled with soldiers?
