Here are the actresses competing for the female lead role in upcoming Han Solo Star Wars spin-off
Three stars are testing for the coveted role
THE female lead for the upcoming Han Solo Star Wars spin-off is yet to be announced, but at least now there's a shortlist.
According to Variety, three actresses tested for the so far unnamed role in London this week.
Tessa Thompson, who starred in Creed and Selma, is reportedly a contender and she's up against Naomi Scott, who will play the Pink Ranger in the upcoming Power Rangers remake and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them star Zoë Kravitz.
Meanwhile Donald Glover is said to be the favourite to play Lando Calrissian, although Lucasfilm are yet to confirm the news.
One thing we do know is that Alden Ehrenreich will star as the young Han Solo, after the news was officially confirmed at a Future Filmmakers panel at the annual Star Wars Celebration fan convention.
The forthcoming film has plenty of excitement surrounding it already and not just because of the casting rumours.
The brains behind the Jump Street movies, Phil Lord will direct the spin-off alongside Chris Miller, who's best known for his work on the Shrek movies.
It's set to hit screens in May 2018.
Hold tight!
