He got down on one knee earlier this summer and has given her a huge pear-shaped engagement ring jam-packed with diamonds which she has been showing off to friends.

She first flashed the ring at a polo event last month but was spotted with the bling at the launch of Cirque Du Soleil’s new show at London’s O2 last week, where she cosied up to the hunk.

A source said: “Jeremy proposed to Jodie a little while ago and they have been telling their family and close friends.

“It is a really exciting time for them both and they feel so lucky to have each other — they are still into each other after being together for years.

“They aren’t rushing themselves down the aisle but plans are in motion.

"As a midwife with the NHS, her job is very hectic and was especially so during Covid, so the engagement has come at a lovely time.

He has built a home for them both — literally building it with his bare hands in the first half of 2020 — and now they feel ready to settle down as a couple.”

Before getting together with Jodie, Jeremy dated pop star Ellie Goulding for several months in 2013.

His first major film role was when he played the lead role of Albert Narracott in Steven Spielberg's 2011 hit movie War Horse.

Since then he has appeared in the second Mamma Mia film and Billionaire Boys Club.

Last year, it was revealed he had been cast as the lead in HBO Max’s Green Lantern TV series, playing DC Comics’ gay superhero Alan Scott.

Given it is bound to be a major show in the US, it will help pay for that upcoming wedding.

Joss: Adele a top lass

JOSS Stone thinks Adele is her “own worst critic” and believes she was too hard on herself after cancelling her Las Vegas residency.

In an exclusive chat, the Right To Be Wrong singer said the megastar should have been kinder to herself.

Joss said: “There is a reason why Adele is so good – and it is not because she doesn’t care.

“She is probably her own worst critic. You do not get to be as good as Adele by being soft on yourself. There is nothing malicious about having nerves.”

Joss, who revealed herself as a huge fan of the Hello singer, said she would be going to the US gigs, which are set to be rescheduled in the coming weeks, whatever happened.

She added: “To be honest, if she turned up with a guitar, no make-up on and just sang I would be elated to see that show. I would buy ten tickets.

“Everyone is human. At the end of the day it is just a job, isn’t it?”

HE has supported the Rolling Stones and made his Glastonbury debut this summer – but nothing could beat the noise from 40,000 fans on Friday for Sam Fender’s biggest headline show.

The Geordie singer kicked off his set with Will We Talk? from debut album Hypersonic Missiles before the crowd really lit up to Getting Started.

Encouraging fans to mosh, Sam played Howdon Aldi Death Queue and Spice as flames billowed out from the stage.

He dedicated Spit Of You to his dad Alan, while Get You Down provided the perfect soundtrack for the setting sun.

The singer, who was supported by Fontaines D.C. and Declan McKenna , told the crowd: “It’s a f***ing honour – it’s the best job in the world.”

Sam had fans in the palm of his hand with a singalong to Saturday before the crowd came alive to his huge hit Seventeen Going Under.

Ending on a high, Sam, whose childhood best friend and younger brother make up his band, finished with his best-loved track Hypersonic Missiles as fireworks exploded.

IF you see Noel Gallagher wandering around with a packet of paper straws stashed in his top pocket, fear not – he hasn’t lost the plot.

The High Flying Birds rocker has revealed he uses them to get his voice in check after years of drinking and smoking made it hard for him to hit the high notes.

Noel, left, admitted he learned the trick from an Australian doctor after struggling following a stint on the road with U2 back in 2019.

He explained: “He gave me his paper straw and said, ‘Half an hour before you go on, in your room, put some music on and put this straw in your mouth and just hum along to whatever comes on and your vocal cords will warm up’.

“I was a bit sceptical, but it really does work. Usually it would take me a couple of tunes to get into it and now I’m straight into it, straight off the bat.”

Speaking to pal Matt Morgan on his Funny How? podcast, Noel added: “I carry them everywhere now. I have a little pot of paper straws.

"Some of the girls in the office went, ‘Are you smoking again? People saw you carrying around a cigarette backstage, looks so cool’.

“I was like, ‘No, it’s just a straw to warm up with’.”

BELLA Poarch went hell for leather in her new music video.

The US singer shared an exclusive photo of herself in a black outfit to celebrate the release of the video for her song Dolls.

Bella certainly lets loose in the film, having learnt to fight for an epic scrap with Grimes.

She said of the scenes: “It was fun and kind of scary.

“Grimes and I had to go through fight training and it’s one of the coolest things I’ve done in a while.”

Fans of the rising star won’t have long to wait for more music, either, with the Dolls EP out on August 12.

Hammering the gym

CHRIS Hemsworth looks enormous in his new film Thor: Love And Thunder.

And the Aussie star has now revealed it wasn’t intentional.

Speaking about his bulkier frame, Chris revealed: “It came from boredom.

“Sitting in Covid lockdown was like a prison. It was train, eat, train, eat. Nothing else to do. Then I turned up for the film bigger than I’ve ever been.”

Not everyone is a fan of his new physique however, including his wife, actress Elsa Pataky.

Chris added: “My wife was like, ‘It’s too much!’ A lot of female friends and family are like, ‘Yuck.’ ”

I’m sure that is not the reaction Chris was hoping for.

LIZZO celebrated the release of her second record with a stellar show in New York.

The Grrrls singer, who dropped album Special on Friday, wore a pink sequined jumpsuit with feathered sleeves on stage.

Speaking about putting out her follow-up to debut Lizzobangers, she said: “It feels like Christmas or my birthday.”

Special has won rave reviews since it was released, deservedly so in my opinion.

But the star admits she was anxious to see the public’s reaction.

She told the crowd: “I was up way later than I should have been, on Twitter, looking at everybody’s favourite songs.

"Coldplay is like a standout, Special is a standout and To Be Loved, which I want to do for y’all today. I’m so proud of this album.

“It was three-and-a-half years in the making and it’s literally a classic no-skips album. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”
