EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa on what really happened to Peter Beale… and what this means for Steven

EASTENDERS siren Jacqueline Jossa has revealed it won’t be long until viewers know exactly what happened to Peter Beale.
When her character, Lauren Branning, returned from New Zealand pregnant with Peter Beale’s baby and with his older brother Steven in tow, the audience was left in the dark as to what had happened.
But Lauren explains it won’t be long until the audience get answers.
She said: “It starts to unravel and you kind of start to think, ‘Okay, cool this is why this is what’s happening’.
“I can’t give too much away but it’s interesting.”
But who will Lauren choose should Peter come back to Albert Square?
Speaking to The Sun Online, Jacqueline said: “Well, I think her heart lies with Peter but if she’s going to do what’s good for her, Steven’s the safe bet.
“I don’t know why she thinks that because he shot Jane in the womb, but whatever.
“I think she likes the feisty side of Steven and Lauren’s a bit like that too – she ran over her dad, let’s face it.”
Aaron Sidwell, who play’s Stephen, has admitted he hopes actor Ben Hardy returns to resume his role as Peter.
He said: “Peter is always going to be a fixture in the story, considering that he and Lauren have a child together that Steven is raising.
“I would like to see Ben Hardy reprise his role of Peter and to see a showdown between him and Steven for Lauren.”
