Nikki got the tattoo in homage to her grandma, which reads: “You are the stars that shine at night.”

Unveiling her new body art to her fans on Instagram, Nikki captioned the picture:” Absolutely LOVE my new tattoo.

“Thank you to the super talented @lauren_shaw_art for making it so perfect!! #formynana #missher#underboobtattoo #underboob.”

32-year-old Nikki, who plays mum-of-one Maxine Minniver in the Channel 4 soap, admits the role has made her feel broody.

She said: “Babies are definitely in my future.

“I’m maternal and everybody who knows me knows just how much I love children.

“I’m very close to Eva, who plays my two-year-old daughter on Hollyoaks – I absolutely idolise her.”

Nikki is dating insurance boss Greg Whitehurst.

They announced their relationship back in May 2015, just 10 months after the actress attended Greg's wedding to his wife as a guest.

She was forced to deny she was a “homewrecker” following claims from fans she’d broken up Greg’s marriage.

She said at the time: “I have known Greg and his family for many years.

“Greg's marriage ended in January, it was a very difficult time for him during which all of his friends and family supported him.

“We have started recently dating and its early days, so we are not rushing into anything but are both enjoying each other's company.”
